Everything was good, courteous staff, pleasant views of Russell Square park. English breakfast at the restaurant was wonderful. The venue was in a very central location adjacent to Underground and local restaurants, so close to the tube and London. Apart from that, Covent Garden was 5 minutes' drive away.

We were traveling to London for celebrating anniversary. The room was perfectly appointed and rather big, with a pleasant view of Russell Square park. Great and fab location, it was walk from a metro station. The place was 4-6 minutes walking distance from Franco Manca, where you can have dinner.
Didn't like the area, it was really busy.

It offers exceptionally good rooms, and has terrific staff who upgraded us to a beautiful corner suite for our anniversary celebration.

Convenience of location. Air conditioned rooms Helpfulness of staff
Having stayed lots of times over several years I was a little disappointed with breakfast selection. In the past a choice of fruit yoghourts was available, individual pots of jam and a wider pastry selection.

The bathroom was lovely.
It was too hot especially in the bar at night but also the restaurant and other communal spaces. Our room was too hot as well but at least I could use the air cond, though it was noisy. Also, there were not enough waiting staff on at breakfast and we had to queue for quite a time to be seated. I did not feel this was a 4* experience

The staff were exceptionly friendly and helpful. The hotel is a fantastic location easily accessable for central London. The breakfast was a good choice, of whatever you wanted.
The room we stayed in was in desperate need of updating and decorating. The paint work was yellow and stained with marks on the walls which did not look very pleasant for a 4 star hotel. We had a 13 year old child in our room, so had requested another bed. There was a sofa bed in the room which was pulled out for this purpose, but it meant that there was only a small gap at the end of it to get to the double bed, and on the wall was the iron and ironing board!! So everytime you walked past the end of the sofa bed you ended up catching yourself on the items on the wall. We were lucky that we did not spend much time in the room. We had thought that the rooms looked very nice on the website, but no we were in a completely different room from what is illustrated.
